Every month when a student gets his/her pocket money, an employee gets a notification for salary credit or a professional gets his pay from the client, there is always a joy in his heart & a smile on his face. But this smile vanishes till the mid of the month and a struggle & wait starts for the next month.
“It’s nearly 8 out of 10 people live paycheck to paycheck. I am guessing that you can relate as well.”
We often get confuse paycheck to paycheck is the story of a job class person, but this is the story of everyone who does not know the principles of money, “How money actually works?” “How to manage personal
finances?”
A student, an employee, a housewife, a professional, and this list goes on…everyone who fails to understand the simple principles or common sense of money which is not that common in people. A student waits for his/her next pocket money, an employee waits for the next salary, and a professional waits for the next check. Before starting my journey on this road of financial freedom, for most of my life, I wasn’t good with money.
As a student, I got my first pocket my ₹50/- for the month in class 6 th and being a bright student, every year I got a pocket money raise or should I say appraisal.
When I completed from school, ₹50/- for the month, grew up to ₹500/- per month. I started taking some tuition classes of junior students in the college which allowed me to make some extras. In 2016, I graduated from college and soon got a job as a “Design Engineer” in a reputed organization with professional work culture.
But as I stated earlier, I wasn’t good with money. I made it and spend it. The money came in and goes out. Whenever my salary gets credited, I partied with my friends, went to movies, and many more activities. By the mid of the month, my struggle got started that went till the end. I was living a paycheck to paycheck life.
But one day all this changed, I realized where I am heading, there is no destination.
I was trapped in a race. My daily routine, my month, my life – everything was repeating itself. The same 9:00-6:00 job, Asphalt Game on my phone, party on Saturday night, a movie on Sunday, nothing was changing because….
“I was trapped in a rat race.”
