RhinoCAM for Rhinoceros is a CNC machining plugin for Rhinoceros software. This plugin is the result of Rhino's high ability to model with VisualCam software machining skills. The result is a product that facilitates milling, cutting and CNC machining operations in the Rhinoceros environment. In fact, the flexibility of machining operations in this case is much greater. It is possible to use two separate products for CAD and CAM operations, but there are two major problems, one is the higher cost of purchasing an expensive product and the other is the separate software learning process. Two software means two separate learning processes and this means a waste of time.
When we can mix the capabilities of CAD and CAM environments, there is no reason to use separate products. In this case, by learning a single interface, you can do both together. One of the major benefits of integrating these two environments is the acceleration of CNC code updating processes. In fact, when you change the designed model, add or remove features, you change the dimensions of the model, the cutting paths and CNC codes are automatically updated.
Using this plugin, creating optimal cutting paths for different machines will be an easy task. This plugin has separate modules for milling, drilling and cutting operations, each of which plays a major role in CNC processes. In this plugin, features are detected correctly and all operations can be performed based on features. When creating cutting paths, as soon as you reach the edges of the feature, the speed of movement in the editor decreases. All parameters are entered as numerical values in graphical dialogs, and sufficient explanations are provided for this purpose.
